LWT employee Laura Hicks inspects a Stay Tuned 2008 mystery performer with ClefWorks Artistic Director Ben Sung and horn player Todd Sheldrick.
In the winter of 2006, a group of friends gathered around a coffee table, discussed a shared dream of drawing a new audience into the world of classical chamber music and, with the help of sponsors and volunteers, orchestrated ClefWorks. The success of Montgomery’s brand new music festival has been rooted in its innovative combination of classical music with casual attire, interesting performances venues and other art forms.
Finding just the right look for expressing the personality of this new chamber music festival has also played an integral part in capturing the attention of a new generation of concertgoers. With the help of the creative team of LWT Communications, ClefWorks has indeed managed to grab the interest of younger music lovers in the city.

ClefWorks musician Todd Sheldrick, who performed at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival this past weekend, along with violinist Ben Sung and pianist Xak Bjerken, demonstrates the use of the horn for guests at the home of Jim and Camille Leonard.
As ClefWorks prepared for its Stay Tuned 2008 concerts, the festival treated LWT employees and their families to a special concert in the home of LWT Principal Jim Leonard and his wife Camille. The festival’s logo, and premiere season print materials, was designed by Camille, who serves as one of LWT’s senior Art Directors. Last year’s “Here Comes Treble” t-shirt won a special judges award at the 2008 Montgomery Advertising Federation’s Addy Awards. The shirt was a result of a collaborative effort between LWT and the ClefWorks board. Camille has also produced a fabulous new t-shirt commemorating the mysterious prelude to this summer’s concerts.
Board President Elmore DeMott thanked the creative team of LWT Communications for designing the innovative look that perfectly matches ClefWorks’ fresh approach to performing classical music. In addition to the ClefWorks logo and fun t-shirts, Leonard and the LWT team have designed the organization’s webpage, tickets and programs.
Guests of the ClefWorks concert enjoyed a fabulous dinner beforehand provided by the Leonards and LWT Principal David Allred and his wife Glenda who also serves as LWT’s Administrator. Among the many guests celebrating the partnership between LWT and ClefWorks at the Leonard’s home last Friday night were LWT employees Kasey Alexander, Lani Asher, Brittney Roland, Vicki Dickson, Cindy Scott, Kenny Anthony, Jenny Fuller, Shannon Havranek, Pam Perkins, Mary Catherine Phillips, Jamie Ramsey, Christopher Reding, Tabitha Wasden, Laura Hicks, Karla Merritt, Ben Shoults, Shawn Tritz, Anne Howard, Brian Barnthouse, Kathleen McCullough, Roberta Pinkston, Megan Singleton and many of their friends and family. ClefWorks Board and Advisory Committee members Elmore DeMott and Wendi Lewis were there with their husbands, along with ClefWorks Executive Director Leah Stephens and her husband Ken.
In addition to LWT, other sponsors for ClefWorks Stay Tuned 2008 season include Bravo Sponsor Sterling Bank, Concert Sponsors Atlantic & Pacific, Brewbaker Motors, Central Alabama Community Foundation, Winky Dowdle, Ruth Weil, Rob Weil and Dr. Michelle Goodwyn.
